McGeoch Technology Ltd. is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to their current projected growth, they are now looking to recruit for the position of **Punch Press Operative**. The successful applicant will be based at our client's production facility in Birmingham City Centre.

**THE ROLE**

Reporting to the section leader as part of the Fabrication team, you will be responsible for operating, Maximum Waterjet, setter operator programmer, using OMAX software, CNC punch press setter operator and using a PARMA 1212. It is imperative that you have experience in setting and operating punch presses.

**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / EXPERIENCE**

Technical Duties
- Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications.
- All tasks are to be completed in the agreed (quoted) time frames or better.
- Machines to be kept in a tidy and well-maintained manner, which would require maintenance be undertaken from time to time.
- Share industry knowledge/train.
- Work with the Manager to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Display flexibility to work in other departments and overtime as necessary to assist the company in meeting production goals.
- Complete administrate tasks as required.
- Report drawing errors.

**COMPETENCIES**
- Proven knowledge and experience of Industrial Fabrication.
- Minimum 5 years Industry exposure.
- Knowledge of metal finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Maximum Waterjet experience,
- Experience with hand measurement tools. Verniers, Micrometers etc.
- Be customer and results focused, have integrity, and be a proven team-player.

**HOURS OF WORK**

**A variety of shifts are available but must be available to work late shift as per the below. (£84 per week shift allowance for Late shift worked). Night shift may also be available.**
- Monday - Thursday 14:00 - 22:00
- Friday 11:00 - 16:00

**HOLIDAYS**

25 days plus bank holidays

**START OF EMPLOYMENT**
- ASAP
