**School Caretaker**

**Caretaker Required for a Primary School in Watford, Hertfordshire - Immediate or ASAP start - £23,620 per year - 07.30am to 4.30pm**

A vibrant primary school situated in Watford, Hertfordshire is currently seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join their team. This full-time position, with long-term prospects leading to permanent employment, is available for an immediate start.

As the current caretaker prepares to retire after 15 years of service, the school needs an exceptional individual to take over the role and maintain the school's high standards.

**Responsibilities**:
The chosen caretaker will be responsible for a range of duties to ensure the smooth operation and safety of the school premises, including:

- Performing various handyperson tasks, such as painting and repairing broken windows, doors, and locks.
- Opening the site promptly at 7.30 am and ensuring it is ready for the day ahead.
- Safeguarding the premises and maintaining a secure environment.
- Undertaking cleaning duties to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assisting with manual handling tasks as required.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in caretaking or a related field, demonstrating proficiency in maintenance and repairs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently prioritize tasks.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and tidiness.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, students, and external contractors.
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle manual tasks comfortably.
- A positive and proactive attitude towards problem-solving and maintaining safety.
