**Department: Schools & Education - Specialist Special Educational Needs/ Disability Practitioners (SSP)**
**Early Years (EY) Team, SEND Support Service**
**Terms and Conditions. Green Book - Term Time Only.**
**Post 1) Permanent, 18.5 hours a week**
**Post 2) Fixed Term, 12 months from January 2024, 37 hours a week**
**Closing date**:Sunday 10**th** December 2023 at midnight.**

**Are you a highly motivated practitioner with a desire **to improve the lives of early years children with SEN and/ or disabilities?**
This inclusive authority is looking for Specialist SEND Practitioners (SSPs) to work with children in the Early Years with a range of identified SEND needs.
You will have experience of working in schools/ settings with Early Years children with SEND. You will be confident working on your own initiative, and will have a significant amount of responsibility for planning and delivering interventions.
You will work with children who have a variety of special educational needs across many areas of development. Some of the children you will work with will also have health needs, and your job will involve meeting these needs
You will have experience of working with children with SEND in the early years and be passionate about enabling them to thrive and flourish.
You will join the SEND Support Service, a team of highly regarded and experienced professionals, dedicated to overcoming the barriers to inclusion for children with a range of SEND.
The Early Years Team in SEND SS is a large and dynamic one made up of hard working and creative staff. The team is made up of a Lead Teacher, 5 Advisory Teachers, and 22 other SSPs who are managed by two SSP Team Leaders
We are looking for practitioners who:
- will work flexibly offering assessment, advice and guidance to settings; training setting staff in creating inclusive environments and in delivering direct interventions to maximise children's learning, development and progress
- can plan deliver and evaluate highly specific interventions across all areas of development, starting from
- enjoy collaborative working with families, settings and professionals across a range of services and can produce high quality reports required for panels and meetings.
- are keen to offer care and medical support to children with a variety of health needs including managing seizures, tube-feeding, stoma care, catheters, oxygen management and administering medication.
