Finance Controller

**Overview**

We are looking for 2 Finance Controllers to join our team based at our Head Office in Deganwy. The main purpose of this role is to provide accounting and financial analysis for the business, ensuring compliance with financial controls as required. To also provide budget holders with the required financial reports so that they can manage their respective budgets. You will report to the Performance Management Director, and be accountable to the Managing Director

Working Hours - Full-time. This is an office-based position.

2 positions available:

- Permanent Finance Controller
- Finance Contoller (Maternity Cover) Fixed Term 12 Months

Holidays - We offer 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays, with the opportunity to buy additional days.

Key Skills & Experience.
- Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
- Educated to Degree Level.
- Advanced Knowledge of Excel in practice.
- Previous experience using Xero, Approval Max and Dext or similar would be a clear advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in financial planning for the business, analyse and report on the achievement of financial objectives and targets.
- Partnering with key personnel to understand primary cost & revenue drivers and variances.
- Create financial awareness in the business and support operational and commercial colleagues to understand costs and to provide both challenge and support to project and financial forecasts and budgets.
- Detailed analysis of monthly financials for vessels, budgets, expenditure, variances, Non-Conformance Report’s.
- Responsible for presenting analysis of results and making suggestions for cost control measures.
- Ensure we have all data collected for key performance indicators to compile and present financial report monthly for the business performance meeting.
- Prepare month end reporting for Directors.
- Monitor contracts and ensure that all customer invoices/credit notes/ contract variations are raised logged in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Provide managers with an overview of credit card expenditure and highlight transactions that should have followed the procurement process.
- Ensure the business has the correct system to ensure the efficiency of IT related systems that interact with finance and procurement, supplier management.
- Spot checks of travel and accommodation expenses ensuring appropriate budget management.
- Assist with the approval of suppliers and subsequent audits within the IMS.
- Work with the appointed company accountants ensuring their delivery of service meets the demands and requirements of Mareel and Northern Offshore Group.
- Liaison with Mareel Guernsey Limited regarding crew financial matters.
- Line manage 2 financial administrators
- Dealing proactively with enquiries from suppliers regarding payment of invoices, challenging any inaccuracies in invoicing.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
