**About the Role**

The post holder will be expected to assist in continuously reviewing all operations within their remit and how they can develop to support an expanding service; ensuring they are all efficient, fit for purpose and customer focused services. They will be required to implement agreed recommendations, liaising with the Head of FM Support Services and other stakeholders as well as manage the teams through periods of development.

As part of the Estates Services FM team, the post holder will actively promote FM Support Services, which includes the University-wide “Support Services”. The role will be expected to assist with developing the existing business by reviewing, planning and implementing agreed changes to the services provided to the University. This will include customer service excellence, staffing, financial, and administrative and business development aspects of FM Support Services which covers a budget in excess of £2 million per annum.

The teams currently comprises of 57 members of staff, in 7x sections - University Card Office including UAS Central Records, University Mail Service, University Print Studio, FM Reception Team, FM Support Services Finance and University Joinery Service. The Deputy Head of FM Support Services will also deputise for the Head of FM Support Services during any instances of absence; this involves covering responsibility for the FM business unit.

**About You**

This is a varied and interesting role, the post holder will need to be someone who strives for excellence and enjoys providing high quality customer service. The successful applicant should have experience in managing and developing large teams, with great communication skills, the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders i.e. colleagues, members of the public, students and staff alike. The role requires proven and effective people management skills at a senior level, with a focus on staff and service development.
