The Band 7 CAMHS Practitioner role will provide advanced and intensive mental health support and treatment to support positive change for the young people and their families referred and the network around them. This work will include carrying out comprehensive assessments (including risk and the development of risk management plans) and offering specialist intervention packages using a variety of treatment models. The CAMHS Practitioner will be expected to provide consultation to team members and the network around them; offering advice, training and support to non-CAMHS colleagues on clients psychological and mental health needs. The CAMHS Practitioner will be expected to be able to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures, and those of Ealing CAMHS and the Trust.

The CAMHS Practitioner will receive clinical supervision from a more senior clinical psychologist within CAMHS LD, or where necessary, supervision from a more senior clinician within their discipline. The CAMHS Practitioner may be responsible for the supervision of more junior clinicians. The post holder may need to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the relevant service area. They will support the teams monitoring and evaluation processes to enable the evidence and learning gained from this project to support the further planning and development of specialist services based in ESCAN.
