Yarl’s Wood IRC (immigration Removal Centre) is a fully contained residential centre housing adult women and adult family groups awaiting immigration clearance. We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service. Within the centre we accommodate an everchanging population from a variety of backgrounds, all with different faiths, beliefs, and cultural values.
We have a vacancy for a Safer Detention Administrator to join our friendly team.
The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for all admin functions within the Department and carrying out tasks relating to the new Violence Reduction Policy.
They will complete updates to Directors Rules and Post Orders in relation to Safer Detention and Violence Reduction.
The Safer detention admin will act in a support role for the Safer Detention Manager.
They will also collate & Manage information relating to Safer Detention and Violence Reduction
Draft monthly reports.
**Some of the day to day duties include**:
Collate performance data to generate monthly reports for the Manager, SMT and Home Office for Safer Detention and Violence Reduction Create dip check schedules for each month of the year. Update Security Spreadsheet with 1st and 2nd Response Acknowledgements. Input and extract data / information from focus group meetings and Safeguarding Spreadsheet Photocopying forms and ensure appropriate and correct and available Support with gathering evidence for audits Ensure notice boards are up to date with relevant information in relation to Safer Detention and Violence Reduction, and Disabilities. Achieve the specific targets set in the Annual Performance Review (appraisal). Conduct monthly dip checks as required Take meeting minutes as and when required Live the company values Complete SPEAR Training, Health and Safety and Serco Essentials, Key and Radio Training.
**What you need to do the job**:
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
It is essential that the successful post holder has excellent computer and typing skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
The successful post holder should ideally have experience of minute taking.
They must have the ability to work flexibly and to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
It is important that they can work well independently as well as part of a team.
