Farm Ranger

**Salary**: £24,924 (pro rata) per annum

**Type**: Casual

We are currently looking for a passionate Casual Farm Ranger to join our team at Foxburrows Farm.

As part of the Farm team, you will assist in the delivery of animal welfare and management programmes, maintenance of the built environment and grounds, provide visitor support, and assist in the provision of education and recreational events. The farm is currently home to a variety of farm, equine and small animals, and this collection will expand as the farm continues to grow and improve.

**Job requirements**:

- Undertake feeding, grooming, cleaning, and exercising of livestock, and to assist in the delivery of all aspects of animal husbandry operations in accordance with the agreed schedule.
- Inspect and report on the physical condition of each animal and observe their behaviour and respond where appropriate.
- Use a combination of physical and digital means to update and maintain animal records for health management and for mandatory recording where needed.
- Undertake cleaning of vehicles, tools, equipment and common areas. loading / unloading of materials, equipment and livestock.
- Assist in the management and engagement of visitors, and the supervision of volunteers.
- Use handheld and power tools to maintain the Farm and Forest infrastructure and habitats.

**Essential requirements**:

- Experience in the care of a variety of farm, equine and small animals.
- Understanding of the regulations and legislation set by any statutory body related to animal care, welfare, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of the relevant health and safety legislation and experience of working to these standards.
- Experience of delivering small events and activities.
- Ability to work on a Rota system, to include working weekends and public holidays, and to be available outside normal working hours, appropriate to work requirements.
