**Employment/Progressions Advisor**

The main objective of this post is to enable young people to engage with and access open employment as well as deliver and support them to achieve an employability qualification. The Employment Advisor will achieve this by taking responsibility for the delivery of an employability qualification, recruitment of young people, overseeing their development, supporting them move on to employment or further training/education.

**Main duties**:

- To hold significant knowledge of how to engage and develop student’s vocational skills, through the delivery of entry level to level 1 qualifications and ensuring that social development and personalised learning is achieved whilst on the course.
- To publicise our services by establishing contacts with local referral agencies in order to increase recruitment and retention.
- To maintain existing relationships and contracts to provide work placements for the young people.

- To ensure that each young person’s Personal Development Plan is regularly reviewed and that they are assisted to achieve their employment and personal development goals. This will also involve liaising and working collaboratively with other managers and team members based at the main office.
- To organise and run weekly job clubs, providing advice and guidance on all aspects of moving on into employment or further education in a group and one to one setting.
- To provide regular, accurate, appropriate and timely reports to agreed deadlines in order to monitor progress.
- To work in accordance within the limits and parameters as set out in OMG's policies and procedures.
- Assisting young people in building their CV, Job Specification and Cover Letter Writing
- Job brokering and reverse job marketing with all young people
- Effective reverse marketing to secure employment for the young people
- Smart and effective caseload management
- Provide tailored and effective In Work Support to young people who move into employment
- Provide tailored and effective support to those who enter further training
- Perform other tasks as reasonably required according to the needs of the study programmes and OMG Education.
- To ensure students maintain appropriate levels of respect, communication etc. to all students and staff whilst on-site
- To be the key mentor for students (under16 and/or over16), ensuring their action plans and reviews are kept up-to-date both in their files
- To inspire students to engage with the curriculum on offer
- To be aware of the requirements from Ofsted and to preferably have experience of going through Ofsted inspections
- To ensure classrooms are well kept, vibrant and interactive
- To be pro-active in keeping channels of communication fluid, and regular between parents, key stakeholders, and students
- To produce and maintain risk assessments relevant to the curriculum needs
- To build relationships with young people by participating in activities relevant to their emotional, social, academic, domestic, and professional needs.
- To always respond in a suitable manner to the welfare of young people
- To play a supportive and informative role in all meetings regarding children, providing rigorous, evidenced data to support decision-making processes
- To have experience in working with vulnerable groups and students who concurrently require mentoring/pastoral support, alongside education/EET support
- To be aware, and comfortable performing multiple tasks relating to teaching and the nature of a qualified teacher, including, but not limited to scheme of work production/tweaking, differentiation, accepting constructive feedback, lesson planning, tracking progress quantitatively and qualitatively, actively tracking attendance, setting up/tidying away, socializing and monitoring students during breaktimes and lunchtimes
- To be comfortable working before 9pm, and after 5pm to make calls, complete lesson plans, have meetings etc.
- Focus on the quality of the learner journey and develop alongside teachers, excellence in teaching and learning incorporating OMG’s values.
- To deliver high quality lessons, including differentiated teaching.
- To contribute significantly to the co-curricular life of the School.
- To commit to a programme of Continuous Professional Development.
- Any other duties which may reasonably fall under the remit of this post.
- To work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with young people to help identify and meet their personal, learning and work needs
- Maintain good order and discipline with your students both inside and outside the classroom and help teachers to develop strong behavior management techniques for inside/outside classroom
