**Role**
We are looking to recruit a Sessional Interpreter Vietnamese on an on-going basis for the NHS.

As a Sessional Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between English-speaking professionals and Vietnamese speaking individuals.

*Please note that hours will be available when requests come through and hours offered each week will vary.

*The bookings happen between 08.30am and 17:00pm Monday to Friday.
*Each appointment will be approx. 1.5 hour in duration, and will be within the Leicestershire area.
*You will be required to travel from home to the appointment, so it is important you are able to access transport in and around the Leicestershire area.

**Duties and responsibilities**
*Providing accurate and reliable interpretation services between a caseworker and service user within a Health and Medical setting.

*Facilitating verbal communication by interpreting spoken messages accurately and in real-time.

*Ensuring cultural sensitivity and maintaining strict confidentiality throughout the interpretation process.

*Adhering to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and industry best practices.

*Demonstrating flexibility and availability to accommodate ad hoc assignments as required.

**Skills and experience**
*Fluency in both Vietnamese and English language
*Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
*Professional demeanour and ability to handle confidential information.
*Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
*Prior experience as an interpreter is preferred, but not mandatory.
*Availability to work on an ad hoc part-time basis
*To hold a DBS certificate (Disclosure Barring Service Check) would be advantageous.

**Location**
It will be necessary for you to travel to the Interpretation meetings therefore access to reliable transport is vital.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
