An exciting opportunity has become available for a Laboratory Technician apprentice to join our expanding UK laboratories business team in Bedford, complete Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship.

- Starting salary of £15000-£16000
- Workings hours are 40 hours per week

**What will I be doing as an apprentice?** In this role, you’ll be providing support to the laboratory staff, undertaking routine tasks essential to keeping the laboratory running smoothly.
As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice at RPS Group, you’ll become an integral part of a friendly, supportive and innovative team. You will be assisting with performing a range of laboratory checks, including calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipmentand preparation of sampling materials.
As part of your main responsibilities, you’ll be required to maintain a working stock of consumables and chemicals, including receipt, unpacking and logging of all goods received.

Alongside this, you’ll be expected to follow established procedures to conduct some basic laboratory analyses, while ensuring that all other routine laboratory tasks are completed.

About You
To be successful in this role, you don’t need any previous experience or knowledge in this or a similar field, as thorough training will be provided. What we need is a passion for Science, strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate good organisational and interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone with sound computer literacy and numerical skills. You’ll be confident individual with keen eye for details and strong problem-solvingskills.

Someone who knows their own mind and isn’t afraid to have an opinion. You’ll give the role your all and will fundamentally be hungry to learn and most importantly willing to take the first step into a life changing career.

**So how does the apprenticeship work?** At Tiro we’re obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships so we can’t wait to have you on board.
Over 21 months, you’ll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on 'off the job’ training. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spentwriting assignments. Together this will count towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at RPS Group Plc who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills,and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career.
Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment.
The best part? You’ll be earning a salary while you gain your qualifications, meaning no huge student loans to pay back at the end of the programme
