We have an EXCITING opportunity for DEDICATED and PASSIONATE Senior Support Worker to join a fantastic adult learning disability service in Warwick, Warwickshire, supporting adults with Learning Difficulties and other challenging needs.

Overview:

- Title: Senior Support Worker
- Salary: £10.80 hourly
- Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
- Hours: 37.5
- Shift Pattern: Flexible, but you must be able to work some weekends and sleep ins

The role:
What you will be doing as a Senior Support Worker
- Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users
- Promote self-esteem, happiness and emotional health of service users
- Respect the person’s right to privacy and ensure that their dignity is maintained at all times
- Encourage and support service users in expressing needs, views and concerns.

Enable service users to make choices and decisions and to participate to the fullest in planning and decision-making processes
- Respect and promote the rights and entitlements of people with learning disabilities, and enable them to participate to the fullest in their communities
- Be responsive to the needs of service users in line with Personal Support Plans and respond flexibly to changing needs
- Enable service users to gain independence and confidence
- Observe and monitor service users’ emotional and physical wellbeing and inform staff and involved professionals of concerns or significant changes in needs,

behaviour and circumstances
- Take appropriate action in the event of emergencies, ensuring that the Supported Living Manager and other managers are informed promptly as required.
- Contribute to service users’ reviews, through verbal and written reports and by attending Support Planning meetings.

What you will need to be a successful Senior Support Worker
- ESSENTIAL to have at least one year’s experience in supporting people with learning disabilities
- You MUST be in possession of NVQ or other relevant social care qualifications or willingness to work towards if successful
- MUST have a clean, valid license with access to a car
