**Organisational Context**

Home-Start Renfrewshire and Inverclyde (HSRI) is a federated charity, part of Home-Start UK. As a registered charity, with its own Board of Trustees, HSRI is responsible for securing its own funds, to cover the cost of running the services delivered locally. We provide volunteer led, person centered, non-judgmental support to families with at least one child aged under five. We work alongside families to improve family life and help the children achieve their potential. Our approach is non-judgmental, building parental self-esteem and strengthen social networks.

The following is an indication of the main areas of responsibilities for the role. It is not an exhaustive list and other duties may be required to be undertaken, as required by the service.

**Income Generation**

The role will involve expanding and diversifying our income sources to enable the charity to sustain its current levels of service and to ensure continued growth.

**Securing Funding: through Funding Organisations, Trusts, Corporate and Community Fundraising**
- Develop, then work to a Fundraising Strategy, to identify, develop and deliver fundraising opportunities with local businesses and commercial funding partners shaped to reflect the opportunities for fundraising in each Local Authority area. This will include devising and coordinating fundraising events such as sponsored activities, lunches and other corporate opportunities. Networking and developing strong contacts across the local business community will be required.
- Work closely with the Director, Operations and Service Managers, staff team and Trustees to ensure funding secured reflects the priorities’ of the service and needs of the business.

**Monitoring and Evaluation**
- Once funding is secured, ensure funder requirements are fully understood within the organisation and monitoring and evaluation is embedded into service delivery at the start of each new project. This will involve working closely with the Operations and Service Managers, including project startup meetings.
- Produce interim and end reports in a timely manner, as required by individual Funders throughout the project period, to monitor funding spend and outcomes. Utilise the organisation’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to analyse project impact and Financial Management Systems to interpret data as required to deliver this reporting.

**Relationship Building**
- Maintain partnership working with Third Sector Interface (TSI) organisations in each local authority area and other partners to ensure good communication channels regarding future funding opportunities.
- Organise and facilitate funder and potential funder/sponsor/commercial partner visits to the service to build long term relationships.
- Attend networking events to raise awareness of the charity locally.
- Work closely with the Director, Service and Operations Managers, Communications & PR, Admin Support and Trustees, to ensure that HSRI maintains a presence at a strategic level in both local authority areas and throughout the Home-Start UK network. Share the responsibility for attending various board and strategic partner meeting with particular focus on funding opportunities for the organisation.
- Be fully informed of and work within the parameters of Home-Start’s Policies and Procedures.

**Development Work**

Work with the Staff Team to continue to develop and improve our service. Projects may include;
- Continual customisation of HSRI’s CRM system to produce better quality reporting.
- Further embedding monitoring and evaluation practices into service delivery across all areas in conjunction with Service Manager and staff team, to generate performance data more efficiently for Trustees, Management Team and Funders.
