Our well established client is looking for a Paralegal to join their Personal and Medical Injury Team located in the Hove office.

**Purpose of the Role**:
To provide comprehensive support to senior fee earners within the team.

**The role**:
To provide paralegal fee earning support to senior fee earners on their complex personal injury and clinical negligence claims and undertake work as delegated by the senior fee earners on their caseloads.

**Key Duties**:

- To take new enquiries into the team.
- To draft funding arrangements.
- To attend to clients both on the telephone and in person where required, ensuring appropriate advice is provided and where necessary escalating to more senior fee earners.
- To maintain existing files and set up new files accurately, ensuring that file management procedures are accurately carried out, including assisting on filing of all documents, correspondence, attendance notes and undertake time recording.
- To collating and marshall documents to experts, courts and barristers.
Monitoring client ledgers, paying invoices, billing, maintaining costs information.
- To drafting instructions to experts, pleadings and other documents necessary for the claim.
- To carry out legal research.
- To undertake any other duties which from time to time may be allocated.

**Person Specific**:

- Prior experience of personal injury and/or clinical negligence work essential
- Ability to take responsibility and use initiative to fulfil role.
- Excellent interpersonal / communication skills (both written and oral).
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent team player and willingness to provide support and assistance to other team members as and when required.
- Interest in legal matters.
- A well-organised, careful, conscientious approach.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
- Enjoy contact with others, good social skills including tact, patience, understanding and persuasiveness. Confident, friendly, flexible and professional at all times.
- Able to manage competing priorities with a flexible attitude to work and meeting deadlines.

Working hours are 9:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. The role is based in Hove, East Sussex. The Firm has a hybrid working policy which, after successful completion of a probationary period, will enable working from home for part of the week if desired.

A minimum of at least 1 years Paralegal experience.

Salary depending on experience.
