Cleaning Supervisor

Hours: 40 hour contract, working 5 days from 7, to include weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, a mix of different shift work; 7am, 11am, 12pm and 4pm starts, to finishes as late as 8pm

Salary £22,672 per year

Location: Surbiton/Wimbledon

**Job Purpose** The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of all the site properties.
- To be responsible for providing high quality cleaning service with in organisation property portfolio.
- To work with highly competent and engaged team, which delivers a broad range of cleaning services. Maximise the contribution of this team and others through collaborative working and training
- To identify risk to property and compliance and report back via correct channels and process.
- To deliver an effective and efficient Void management process.
- To attend relevant training to help you either; be complaint, improve own technical skills and or other appropriate training that the business recognises.
- To be an ambassador and have organisation customers/residents at the heart of all decision making.
- The role is required work 80 percent of the time along with the team on the floor and the remaining 20 for doing team admin.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**General**:

- Responsible for overseeing the Housekeeping Department.
- Maintain high quality housekeeping and cleaning service to meet the needs of the organisation property portfolio and its users, routinely inspecting all areas of work.
- Ensure health and safety and hygiene standards are met.
- Maintain and improve high standards of customer care.
- Undertake regular inspections reporting on any risks, damage or breaches of licence identified.
- Record any maintenance and H & S issues.
- Use in house systems in housekeeping for reporting stock management, voids, health and safety, risk assessments, COSHH, complaints, maintenance needs and reporting any incidents and security concerns.
- Ensure all legal requirements are adhered to.
- Ensure team are cleaning reception, front of the building, stairs, offices, restaurant, chapel, ground floor toilets, departure rooms, gym changing rooms, kitchens and laundry duties
- Ensure all floors are clean (polished, tiles and carpet), skirting boards, window ledges, glass panels.
- Ensure all surfaces are dusted and polished and windows cleaned within reach.
- Ensure all toilets and showers and changing rooms are clean, including tissue, hand towels and soap.
- Ensure all void rooms are cleaned thoroughly as per the void standards.
- Ensure all bins are emptied regularly.
- Work with minimum disturbance to building users, placing safety notices or informing people if likely to be any danger (wet floors, trailing cables, hazardous cleaning materials, etc.).
- Ensure staff are changing bed linen in accordance with service standards.
- Ensure staff is cleaning room carpets, shampooing as necessary.
- Clearing out any rubbish; assisting with 'bagging-up' of personal belongings; 'deep clean' as necessary.
- Ensure staircases are swept and mopped daily.
- Get to know residents in work area, encouraging them to engage in the life and activities of the hostel as appropriate.
- Inform the Manager, Reception staff and/or Housing Support Staff if there are any matters of concern with residents, or resident refuses access to room.
- To be responsible for the replenishment of supplies to First Aid boxes in your areas.
- To be responsible for consumables and chemical ordering.
- To be responsible for Linen and Housekeeping supplies.
- Report maintenance and redecoration as required.
- To be responsible for the safe keeping of Housekeeping keys.
- Ensure the residential, office, communal and public areas of the buildings are thoroughly cleaned.
- To ensure self and team are maintaining high level of confidentiality whilst dealing with residents information.
- Attend all relevant training and development programmes.
- Undertake all duties with regard to the Association's Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy and other policies and procedures adopted by the Association.
