Preston, United Kingdom Real Care Children Services Full time

**Do you want to make a difference to a child's future? Don't just change jobs; change a life. Join the Real Care team.**

Real Care Children Services specialises in assisting young people and families that are experiencing long or short term difficulties, offering a wide range of services. This profession also allows you to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, children's homes, secure transportation, and family assistance.

You must thrive in a collaborative setting and be adaptable, with the flexibility to work 24- to 48-hour shifts (including sleep). Other assignments could be local, allowing you to work early, late, or waking watch shifts (depending on the employment requirements).

We provide family support, short-term placements, respite for families, welfare checks, and supervised contacts. These shifts can last anywhere from one to twenty-four hours.

We are therefore looking for resilient support workers who have previous experience working with young people, challenging behaviour, and family support. You will assist our young people in regulating their behaviours by setting firm boundaries in a secure and caring atmosphere and collaborating with the rest of the staff team to offer a consistent, positive, and trustworthy connection.

We are unable to offer sponsorships.

In addition to the above, you will assist our young people with more ordinary parts of life, such as domestic responsibilities, chores, appointments, and staying in touch with family and friends.

Key Accountabilities:

- To provide high-quality, person-centred care that recognises each Young Person's potential and promotes it through actions and words, including teamwork.
- To satisfy the unique care and support requirements of young people using the programme while promoting dignity, privacy, safety, and independence.
- To ensure that resources are used effectively when delivering this care and support.

What we are looking for:

- You will hold a current driving licence.
- Be able to work away from home, as not all jobs are guaranteed locally. (Employees will be paid in full for all travel time spent.)
- Be comfortable and confident driving long distances.
- You will consider yourself a resilient and dependable individual who is able to keep cool in situations that may be stressful and challenging.
- Be able and willing to work with families in their homes, hospitals, and communities.
- Our young people are cared for around the clock, and you will be expected to work some sleep-ins to help with this.

Training and Development:

- We provide a wide selection of learning options during your career with us, including fully financed diplomas if eligible. Ensure that you are qualified and equipped to carry out your work confidently.

**Benefits**:

- An employee assistance program is provided via Health Assured for free counselling and advice for you or your family members.
- Company pension holiday entitlement.
- Blue Light Card for additional high-street benefits.
- Flexible hours to suit range from full-time to part-time hours.
- There is an opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and experience due to the nature of assignments.
- Double time rates on bank holidays
- Development opportunities within the business as we plan to expand over the next few years.
- NVQ's and qualifications are available and supported by Real Care.
- Company vehicles are provided to attend shifts.
