A leading primary school in the borough of Islington are actively seeking pro-active educators who can support additional needs to join them in September.

The school prefer applicants with a background in;
- Youth support
- Youth development
- Outreach youth work/Youth empowerment
- Any community support or sports coaching/counselling

Special needs experience either professionally or personally is required and managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable for this position.

The school is newly built and has the best facilities and resources readily available for you to use.

It is a mainstream school however some of the youth in the classroom do need more support than others, so you will be required to support them 1 to 1 in and out of the classroom.

The reason why there is a focus on youth mentors is because schools in the borough are adamant that individuals with youth work background are more effective in 1 to 1 support roles.

The school is based in Kings cross whereby the closest station is Kings Cross St Pancras.

Kings Cross St Pancras station has an international Eurostar which gives you the opportunity to take a quick trip straight to France during the school holidays

We also work with schools across the entire borough of Islington who are focusing on recruiting for Youth Development to add to their support staff.

There is another school based in Hatton Garden who are looking for Learning Support Assistants with a Youth Mentor background also so there are several opportunities for you.

This school is rated ‘OUTSTANDING' on the Ofsted report and is a two-form entry school.

Requirements - You must be available between Full Time, 5 days a week during the school’s hours of 08:30 to 16:00 and able to get to the Islington area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
