Witherby Publishing Group is a specialist publisher of marine training, reference and regulatory material for the shipping industry.

**Responsibilities**

The operator’s role will involve working in a publisher’s warehouse and will include, but not be limited to:

- Ensuring smooth operation of the warehouse including, but not limited to, shipping/receiving books, order fulfilment and processing using an integrated ERP business management system
- liaising with couriers for imports/exports requirements, completing Customs documents, and tracking of consignments
- assisting with planning and undertaking year end stock count
- accurately carrying out an annual full stock check and rolling stock counts at regular intervals
- ordering and maintaining shipping material/packaging
- managing offsite storage requirements
- inspection of deliveries from suppliers for any damage or errors, eg checking that the correct quantity and type of books have been received from the printer
- recording any damaged, missing or faulty books
- shipping book orders, ensuring these are appropriately packed and labelled and stacked for uplift
- maintaining all relevant data in the warehouse management stock system
- relocating and re-stacking goods to make space for new deliveries
- ensuring good housekeeping of the warehouse and picking areas
- conducting regular safety inspections of warehouse equipment and building infrastucture, to identify any hazards and implement corrective actions
- identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive the business forward
- carrying out general maintenance in the warehouse and office
- ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety standards and Company policies, particularly in the warehouse

The Warehouse Operator will report to the Warehouse & Facilities Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3-year stock control experience in a warehouse
- Forklift truck experience - a forklift driving licence is essential. Bendi forklift experience is preferred but training can be arranged
- The ability to work effectively in a team but also be able to work independently using your initiative
- Be able to work to a high degree of accuracy
- To be able to communicate at all levels with all internal departments and in a knowledge-led manner
- To be dynamic and energetic in approach
- Capable of prioritising and completing daily tasks in line with business requirements
- Capable of working to tight deadlines
- Be flexible, especially around the annual stock take period
- Good time management skills
- Be willing to learn new skills and processes
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook

**Salary and Conditions**
- Salary TBC
- Full time hours: 37.5 per week
- Place of work is Livingston, Scotland
