Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK. Home-Start volunteers help families with young children deal with the challenges they face. We support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.

With your knowledge and experience you could be the vital support a family in the Staffordshire Moorlands needs and make a big difference to their lives.

**Family Support Volunteer**

Your role will be to offer support to a Staffordshire Moorlands family you are matched with and support them in the way that they would like: this may include help with practical tasks such as getting out of the house, attending appointments or helping to get organised. It could also involve offering advice and sharing experiences; or supporting through emotional issues. We also need volunteers who are interested in helping at our stay and play groups.

**Requirements of the role**
- Parenting or caring experience.
- Commit to our volunteer training programme.
- Provide two referees and undertake an enhanced DBS check.
- Understand that the support we provide to families is confidential.
- Have a non
- judgemental attitude and understand the pressures of bringing up a family.

**Time Commitment required**
- Around 2-3 hours a week
- Commit to our training course
- Attend 6-8 weekly supervision with one of volunteer coordinators.
