Do you have experience of proactively engaging with young people who have been referred for targeted support and interested in being a part of Slough Child First pathways and plans for young people?Then we welcome you to join Slough Children First as we are looking for a Senior Targeted Youth Support Officer to join Early Help service on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

As a Senior Targeted Youth Support Officer, you will be proactively engaging with young people who have been labelled as vulnerable, hard to engage and disaffected. You will be motivating, inspiring, enabling, and supporting them in identifying and securing ways in which to overcome the barriers, circumstances and needs they are experiencing, and support them in making successful and positive transitions into adulthood.

**Main Accountabilities**:

- To design, deliver and evaluate high quality engagement with young people on a designated case load in order to identify barriers and issues that are preventing them from fultilling their potential and playing a full and positive role within their various environments including family, school, work, supported housing and with their peers.
- Undertake or contribute to the assessment of need and risk to develop an action plan in line with the needs of each individual young person, maintaining accurate records.
- Work directly with a caseload of referred clients to provide time limited structured support in order to meet identified needs, increase engagement with mainstream services and prevent problems escalating.
- Support and facilitate individual and group based interventions which safeguard children and young people at risk of extra familial harm.
- Keep accurate, clear records using the liquid logic system, contributing to or leading on children and young people's support plans.
- Proactively and professionally develop and effectively promote and implement multi-agency working ensuring close working relationships are developed with partners such as schools, colleges, youth offending service, social care, training providers and commissioned providers.
- To develop creative ways in which to engage hard to reach, 'at risk'. and those who initially do not want to engage young people.
- Reduce evidence that the young people being supported are making progress in relation to their needs and desired outcomes as a result of their contact with the service.
- Carry out other duties that are consistent with the nature and grade of the post as may be requested by the post holder's line manager and/or senior service manager.

**Person Specification**:

- Education to 'A' level/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with practical knowledge of applied business practices including, where relevant, basic awareness of relevant legislation. May require additional technial or specialist training **(Essential)**:

- Membership of a relevant professional body **(Desirable)**:

- Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development **(Essential)**:

- Experience acquired through a combination of training and working in a relevant area; demonstrating self development and an enthusiasm to learn **(Essential)**:

- Experience of working successfully in teams, across teams and partnerships **(Essential)**:

- Proven track record of embracing digital approaches and new ways of working **(Essential)**:

- Good level of digital literacy, including proficient use of office software suites and flexible ways of working (e.g. video conferencing, remote working)** (Essential)**:

- Interpret and analyse performance and finance information to feed into practive improvements and contribute to business planning **(Essential)**:

- Ability to plan and organise work to produce high level of output to quality standards **(Essential)**:

- Develop productive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders **(Essential)**:

- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiating and influencing skills. Good networking, collaborative and presentation skills to relate effectively to employees, managers, members, the public and stakeholders and command their respect, trust and confidence **(Essential)**:

- Experience leading delivery of projects and/or programmes **(Desirable)**:

- Knowledge and understanding of relevant work areas and demonstrable experience of working in a customer facing organisation. **(Essential)**:
