**THE ROLE**:
To lead the Talking therapies employment services and provide line management support and supervision to front-line employment advisors. Embrace, encourage and support the co-location of your team with Lambeth talking therapy service.
- You will work alongside clinical team members to support people to achieve their employment goals as part of their health and well-being plans.
- You will manage a small caseload of your own clients, providing employability support in line with the evidence-based recommendations within the supported employment quality framework.
- You will be working closely with a full-time Senior advisor to support the overall development and delivery of the service and contribute to the overall aims of the charity.
PURPOSE:
- To work in conjunction with the Services manager in the day-to-day operation and service delivery.
- To supervise allocated Employment Advisors to achieve performance outcomes in line with contractual requirements.
- To lead an inspire the Talking therapies service, including the recruitment, induction, and retention of staff members.
- To hold regular supervisions with allocated staff to determine appropriate levels of support and identify training needs.
- To have and maintain own caseload.
- To attend regular seniors’ meetings and brief staff of developments accordingly.
- To organise and facilitate regular staff meetings.
- To maintain accurate and prompt management information
- To ensure that client engagements are recorded and evidenced using organisational templates and client databases.
- Represent Status Employment on external forums and meetings as requested by the Services manager.
- Undertake any reasonable duties as requested by the Services manager.
- Status Employment may undertake special projects. You may be asked to assist with the development of such initiatives as required by the charity.
**THE CANDIDATE**:
Qualifications and training
- Educated to A level or equivalent experience - Essential
- Willing to engage with additional training as required - Essential
- Trained in supported approach (or equivalent) - Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Employability Services Sector Qualification - Desirable
- QCF in Advice & Guidance (Level 3) - Desirable
Experience
- Experience/understanding of working with people with complex support needs, or a similar client group within health, social services or the voluntary sector - Essential
- Experience of working with someone on a one-to-one basis - Essential
- Experience of facilitating group work activities - Essential
- Experience of managing multiple tasks at any one time - Essential
- Experience of working assertively to influence decision-makers - Essential
- Experience of leading a team - Essential
- Experience of supporting people to obtain or keep work. - Desirable
- Experience of working within mental health services - Desirable
- Own personal lived experience of recovery from mental health difficulties - Desirable
- Previous experience of working within a supported employment service - Desirable
- Proven experience of meeting and exceeding outcomes and targets - Desirable
Knowledge:
- An understanding of the employment needs, and challenges faced by people who experience mental health difficulties. - Essential
- Developing a knowledge of a broad range of occupations and jobs - Essential
- Able to use IT and tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel - Essential
- Knowledge of the benefits agency and disability/employment-related benefits - Desirable
- Knowledge of the Equality Act and how it impacts on supporting people with disabilities into work - Desirable
- Knowledge of supported employment models of working - Desirable
