We believe in providing training opportunities for our staff and therefore are currently seeking to recruit highly motivated, passionate Band 6 Orthoptists who are keen to develop their Specialist role in North Wales. Our current Specialist roles are in Stroke rehabilitation and in Special Schools.

We are a team of 2 Orthoptists, 4 Ophthalmic Technicians, 2 Optometrists and 5 Consultant Ophthalmologists based at Ysbyty Gwynedd. The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication skills with an ability to provide clinically effective care within the Orthoptic team.

The role will involve diagnosis and management of a varied caseload of adult and paediatric patients including patients from the Emergency Eye clinic, Neurology and Brain Injury Unit, Maxillofacial team, Stroke team, Diabetes and Endocrinology team, secondary vision screening and special school services.

Previous experience is desirable but newly qualified Orthoptists are welcome to apply.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
