**Job summary**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Therapist to join our forward thinking Therapies Directorate at University Hospital Birmingham. This role is to provide clinical expertise, operational and strategic leadership to the Paediatric Therapies Team. This team consists of Paediatric Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, an Occupational Therapist and Dieticians. The post holder will be responsible for the promotion, planning and delivery for their therapy teams and services. You have oversight and leadership of these therapy teams, as well as working with a senior management team who will support and develop you into the next stage of your career.

We are looking for an individual who is able to demonstrate effective leadership skills alongside excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to teach and inspire colleagues through active demonstration of clinical practice.

The post holder should have extensive clinical experience within a relevant clinical area and will be a source of high level expertise, providing clinical leadership in the management of this group of therapists and deliver specialist clinical patient care.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of high quality Therapy services for patients within the clinical teams and to support professional leadership within Paediatric Therapy Staff, including Paediatric Physiotherapy, Paediatric Dietetics and AHP within the NNU Team.

Effectively manage all services for which they have responsibility, within available resources.

Direct the resources of the clinical teams appropriately to prioritise areas as necessary to meet the Trusts objectives.

To lead and participate in clinical activity within the clinical team as is needed to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the clinical team. Clinical activity will be determined by the post holder in conjunction with their line manager and is envisaged to be a flexible and wide ranging interpretation of the activities necessary to address the clinical needs of the patients supported by the team.

Working closely with the Therapy Planned care leads and other Therapy Leads, support and facilitate staff to innovate and improve services to meet the needs of patients whilst ensuring the provision of seamless services that addresses the Sustainability Transformation Plans/Partnership of our population

Working in partnership with other Therapists to lead integrated teams and with other service providers, partners and commissioners to develop collaborative, integrated systems of work

Clinical qualification at degree level or equivalent

Significant management experience within the NHS

Extensive clinical experience in a clinical area relevant to the clinical team

Significant experience working as part of an MDT

Able to demonstrate experience of patient and public engagement

Able to demonstrate experience of operational management knowledge and skills

Track record of delivering services with national and local targets

Managing programmes of organisational change that have led to tangible improvements

Multi-disciplinary team leadership

Demonstrates excellent clinical service provision relevant to post and commensurate with grade
