Opcare is the largest provider of prosthetic services to the NHS in the UK and also a major provider of orthotics, posture and mobility services. Our services involve the assessment, design, manufacture and fitting of artificial limbs.

The Orthotist will support the ongoing development of the Wirral clinic.

**Role and responsibilities include**:

- Advance the delivery of the Opcare orthotic service by embracing evidence-based practice, utilising the result of clinical audit and work within the requirements of clinical governance.
- Ensuring progress of referral pathways for orthotic patients enabling the organisation to achieve Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- To work closely with workshop staff, admin staff and the Orthotic Manager to deliver a smooth and efficient service.
- Measuring, tracing / casting and fitting orthosis.
- Ensuring adequate identification of all orthosis and patients items etc at all times.
- Completing and processing Measure Charts / Worksheets with relevant details, ensuring accurate limb codes are recorded.
- Using REHAPP and CIMS, correctly record patient details and to process orders/deliveries.

**Required Qualifications and Experience include**:

- Proven practical experience working successfully as an Orthotist.
- Committed to the highest standards of patient care and practice in line with the role holders state registration e.g. HCPC.
- Proven experience of working within high performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally.
- Ambition and drive to help improve the services and processes.
- Sound judgement and the ability to make sound appropriate decisions quickly and effectively in complex situations.
