**Role Overview**:
The market leading Markel Media and Entertainment (M&E) team focus on UK-domiciled and international business, on a primary and excess of loss basis. We provide excellent service via our expert underwriters who offer a flexible and innovative approach to underwriting that ensures we provide solution focussed products. This role is for the Media Liability book but will also involve our Cyber product line which is intrinsically linked to Media. We will write over USD10m gross premium in 2023 and can deploy capacity of £10m/€15m/$20m any one risk. The media team insures traditional media companies such as broadcasters, publishers, marketing and communications, and film/TV production. The Media portfolio offers insurance to mid-size clients, up to large multinational and international clients.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Help raise the profile of Markel and the M&E team. Demonstrate a strategic and structured approach to broker development, communicate the Markel story to brokers and customers in a compelling and credible way that supports the brand.
- Review and underwrite new and renewal risks using technical rating model.
- Attend client meetings and build good relationships with both brokers and clients.
- Help to build and maintain strong working relationships within Markel. Collaborate with Markel claims colleagues on broker and customer meetings to improve business development opportunities.
- Navigate the complexities of drafting and amending wordings and clauses. Contribute innovation within the product suite providing expert input into the creation of new products and proactive input into the refinement of existing products or the services relating to the product.

- Strong technical knowledge within Media Liability lines
- Excellent relationships within the Media Liability market across a range of brokers
- Demonstrate a collegiate mentality and be able to work within a team of underwriters
- Demonstrate a proactive and entrepreneurial approach
- Portfolio Management and underwriting data analysis
