**Head of Sustainability - 12 month FTC**

Our client is an established membership organisation whose sole focus for the past 100 years is on the food and consumer goods sector. They have a coveted history of providing industry insight, organising events and have the ability to influence change witha strong network of UK traders and brands, NGO's and government departments. They are passionate to find sustainable solutions for real challenges that are impacting the consumer goods sector.

This role is being offered as a fixed-term maternity cover and is an exciting opportunity to continue the journey and work in collaboration with a range of stakeholders including industry leaders, government officials and academics. You will lead on circulareconomy and packaging programmes with responsibility for driving progress and motivating the team to achieve their goals, with a "one team" vision.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead on circular economy and sustainable packaging programmes with responsibility for targets and budgets
- Reporting on progress, taking account of risks, opportunities and planning for contingency.
- Develop relevant, accurate content for reports, briefing notes and online articles.
- Representing the company at meetings and events, delivering presentations and championing the organisation to drive engagement and raise the profile of the organisation.
- Work in close partnership with internal teams providing advice and support and expertise in sustainability matters including policy and innovations.

**Requirements**:

- Good technical and policy expertise across packaging, circular economy and broader environmental sustainability agenda.
- Prior experience gained working within the UK food and consumer goods or related industry.
- Strong programme management skills, with the ability to drive programmes forward.
- Well organised, able to work under pressure with a flexible approach to meet changing priorities.
- Confident communication / interpersonal skills, (written and verbal), able to collaborate with colleagues, external stakeholders and build relationships.
