The Beacon School is looking to appoint a skilled and highly proficient individual to join our team as an Exams Officer to oversee the school's external examinations process, leading a team of casual exams invigilators.

We are particularly interested in highly effective, proactive and resourceful applicants. Prior experience in working within an exams team is desirable but not essential.

**Your opportunity**

Working with the Central Trust team at GLF, the Examinations Officer will play a key role in providing high-quality and timely support to teaching and associate colleagues and parents/carers. Including supporting the school’s Assessment, Reporting and Recording Policy and Curriculum and Learning & Teaching Policy. The Examinations Officer will also be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing communications with examination boards including examination entries and dissemination of information to and from JCQ.

The working hours for this role are 36 hours per week, term time plus two, although we welcome discussions around a flexible working pattern, depending on individual circumstances.

**What we are looking for**
- Someone with examination administration and/or strong administrative experience
- An excellent communicator with a genuine desire to provide the best service to staff, parents/carers and students.
- A well organised individual who works in a methodical manner, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Commitment to the aims and ethos of the school.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating calmness when under pressure.
- A self-starter who can manage their own workload, prioritising effectively.
- To lead the results process during the summer closure, including being onsite on the days before, on and after results day.
- Someone who is able to work alongside the Finance Administrator Officer and Central Support Finance Team to monitor exam expenditure and maintain accurate records of entry costs. To ensure that invoice for resits and private entry examinations are sent out.
