We are currently working with a reputable Council in the Midlands who are require the interim support of a **Court of Protection and Appointee Manager**.

**Details
**Start: ASAP**

**Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience (Inside IR35)**

**Duration: 6-Months Initially**

**Remote Working Available**

**Purpose
- Manage the property and financial affairs of a number of vulnerable adults
- Through an appointeeship granted by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) or a deputyship granted by the Court of Protection (CoP)
- Provide advice and support to the Adult Social Care (ASC) directorate
- Provide support to the ASC Finance team on appointee and deputyship issues

**Role Responsibilities
- Manage the property and financial affairs of a number of vulnerable adults, either through an Appointeeship granted by the DWP, or a Deputyship granted by the CoP
- Review and advise social work teams on the completeness of new appointee and deputyship referrals
- Liaise as appropriate with other parties if deputyships are transferred or client regains capacity
- Liaise with executors of the estate on the death of any client
- Ensure deputyship client assets (cash, pensions etc.) are safeguarded once deputyship is granted
- Ensure client financial records are effectively maintained, and complete and promptly submit annual returns
- Process, and manage appropriately, the payment of costs, allowances and care contributions
- Experience of working in a financial, legal or similar environment to deliver agreed outcomes
- Experience of working in a customer facing service
- Experience of dealing with vulnerable adults and social worker teams
- Experience of understanding and interpreting regulations and relevant legislation
