Our services are co-designed by people with personal experience of mental health problems and healthcare professionals, and we have supported the recovery of over 17,500 people.

As a growing organisation we seek to appoint a full-time Head of
Operations that will manage the charity’s operations in the South
East.

**_Grade/Salary _**:

- _ £32,000 pa (full-time 37.5 hrs per week)

**_Range _**

**_Job Purpose _**

1. Manage Sport in Mind’s operations team in the South East of
England.

**_Designation of Post and Position within Service _**

1. Responsible to Sport in Mind’s CEO.

**_Main Duties and Responsibilities_**

**Management**

1. Line-manager for all Development Officers

2. Responsible for recruitment, retention and training of all
Development / Education Officers

3. Work alongside Senior Leadership Team to establish good practice, set and deliver objectives

4. Report at monthly Senior Leadership meetings as required

5. Chair quarterly Operations Committee meetings

6. Implement improvements to Operations identified by CEO and
Board

7. Maintain knowledge and understanding of current legislations governing best practice, including GDPR and safeguarding.

8. Ensure the charity’s policies, procedures and processes are up to date and good practice is maintained throughout the organisation (including safeguarding, risk assessments)

9. Review policies yearly and suggest revisions to CEO as and when required

10. Propose strategies to develop the charity’s programmes; number of service users, variety of activities, locational growth.

11. Partner relationship management

12. Help monetise charity’s operations and support with income generation

13. Participate in annual finance sub-committee meetings

14. Monitor and manage operations budgets and expenditure

**Quality**

1. Systematically evaluate all elements of service delivery through consultation

**HR**

At Operations level, have responsibility for:
1. Maintenance of records

2. Recruitment, retention and development

3. Preparation and issue of contracts to contractors

4. Conflict resolution

5. Complete monthly one to one performance reviews with staff

6. Ensure employees are developed and trained according to their needs following performance reviews.

**Administration**

At Operations level, have responsibility for:
1. Secure storage of Sport in Mind’s hard copy and digital information

2. Managing access to Sport in Mind’s digital information on a need to know basis

3. Back up of digital data

**General**

1. Attend such planning meetings and external meetings as required

2. The post holder will promote a learning and development culture within the charity

3. Be responsible for money handling (e.g. cashing cheques, collecting and delivering money pots).

4. Support with ad-hock charitable matters.

5. Be committed to good practice and ensure familiarity with all
Sport in Mind policies and procedures (e.g. health and safety, confidentiality and safeguarding)

6. To promote equality and diversity in all aspects of your work by developing and maintaining relationships, ensuring that colleagues are treated fairly and with respect/dignity.

7. Represent the charity at local and national events.
