**Driver Job Description**

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Driver to join our team in St. Helens. We are looking for a Van Driver with the ability to cover 7.5 Tonne driving as and when required. The successful applicant will be hard-working, conscientious and passionate about contributing towards the smooth and professional delivery of products to customers at their building sites.

**Driver Responsibilities Include**:

- Conduct full inspection of vehicle
- Fuelling Vehicles
- Safe and efficient handling of vehicle in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle
- Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times
- Ensure that all delivery procedures are followed in line with Company and Customer procedures
- Ensure all Company documentation and equipment is returned to the transport office/depot daily
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within Company and legal frameworks
- Report vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented
- Comply with Driver’s regulations & Working Time Directive in line with the current legislation and Company procedures
- Ensure the Digital Driver Card is carried at all times, that the card is downloaded according to current legislation/regulations
- Attend a driver debrief at the end of each shift and provide information relating to shift
- Able to portray a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Assisting with Warehouse duties if required, such as packing and picking, using company warehouse system, keeping warehouse/yard clean and tidy, assisting with stock take
- In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business, where appropriate training provided.

**Driver Qualities Needed**:

- Must hold a valid, Class C1 driving licence
- Must have at least 1 year of 7.5 tonne driving experience
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph card with recent activity
- Be CPC qualified
- Be flexible to work possible early starts and assist in the warehouse
- Have multi-drop driving experience
- Physically fit to perform manual tasks as required
- Organised and good attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Confident and able to use own initiative when needed
- Excellent time keeping skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £21,840.00-£22,880.00 per year
