We are looking for a Head Chef who will take responsibility for effectively managing the catering contract within budgetary constraints, whilst maximising profitable sales by the introduction and maintenance of food service brands.
The role attracts a salary of £55,000 per annum plus £5,000 performace related bonus
**Responsibilities will include**:

- Deliver a consistent level of service in line with KPI's and contract specification
- Ensure all costs and expenditure are within the budgeted levels by effectively managing all costs such as labour, expenses, cash purchases as agreed with your line manager
- Effectively manage the preparation and completion of menu planning, costing, ordering & accurate stock control.
- Carry out on the job training in such areas as Food Safety, Health & Safety, Unit evacuation policy, dangerous equipment and basic food hygiene.
- Ensure Food Cost percentage targets are met.
- Initiate a process of continuous improvement by undertaking company promotions & extraordinary merchandising initiatives to ensure the profitable growth of the contract.
- Introduce new food concepts and drive food trends within breakfast, shop, deli and hospitality
- Talk and engage with customers and clients to gain insights and gather feedback which will drive improvements.
- Continuously develop and improve food quality and hygiene standards across all areas
- Preparation and service of all restaurant & hospitality requirements
- Ensure that adequate products, equipment, and materials are properly stored.
- Have knowledge of changes in legislation
- Assist with staff recruitment, staff training, development & motivation of staff
- Assist with disciplinary and grievance issues consistently, fairly and in line with company policy

**Experience and Qualifications required**:

- 706/1/2 or equivalent
- HND Membership of HCIMA desirable
- Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
- Practical experience in a quality establishment
- Management experience within catering environment gained in contract catering
- Must be a qualified chef with flair and imagination.
- Full craft background.
- Must have a full understanding of cost control.
- Computer literate.
- Fully fluent in spoken & written English.
