Our client is seeking a Financial Controller who will be a senior manager within this service company with a turnover of around £10 million. They will be responsible for supervising all internal accounting-related activities, prepares internal accounts /financial information and oversees compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes responsibility for the internal finance team, maintaining controls over financial reporting, presenting financial reports to the board and KPIs to the wider businessand overseeing compliance policies.

The company offer a very secure role in a business which has grown extensive over the past 10 years. This is a great role working in fantastic offices with a great team who are established and happy.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the financial performance of the business and report to the board and also communicate to the wider business. Summarising budget trends, analysing deficiencies and variances.
- Overall management of nominal accounts, reconciliation of control accounts and produce internal accounts, reports and financial analysis as required. This may be to the board to support strategic decision making or to managers to support the managementof their teams.
- Have overall responsibility for the internal finance team which has two aspects
- Credit control - ensure we have good management of the debtor book, minimising bad debts and have strong cash collection.
- Purchase ledger - ensure bills are sent out promptly, creditors are paid within credit terms, manage costs including expenses and records are accurately maintained.
- Ensure the policies relating to AML, GDPR, Health & Safety, Bribery Act, Criminal Finance Act etc. are properly implemented by the business including training and monitoring. This includes the completion of the annual DPB and Practice Assurance checklistsin addition to supporting completion of the ICAEW Annual Return.

**Skills and Qualities Required**

The applicant will be in an existing financial management or accountancy position. They will be a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) able to analyse results and communicate with the board and the wider business. Reporting to the MD this isa full time position. It will have the support of the Operations Manager and Internal Finance Team. Skills and experience will include -- Accountancy qualification or qualified by experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and data analysis.
- Good analytical skills to be able to analyse and interpret financial reports.
- In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Excellent spreadsheet and IT skills coupled with an understanding of accounting software.
- Strong communication skills and able to build relationships at all levels. We are a people focused business.
- Proven experience in a senior role.
- Experience of the professional services sector and knowledge of the regulatory environment desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
