Working for our organisation

The unit is one of the dedicated regional centres for paediatric and adolescent rheumatology in the UK and provides care to children across the Trent region and beyond. The Paediatric Rheumatology Service started in Nottingham in April 1984 and has developed since then into an evolving clinical network. Over the years, there has been significant expansion in the service such that it provides care for children throughout the East Midlands, based on an In-Reach, Out-Reach model. There are currently regular clinics in Derby, Mansfield, Lincoln, Grantham and Peterborough. The teams working in these localities work closely with the staff within the Queen’s Medical Centre and share clinical care, teaching, professional development, audit and research. We have had significant level of funding and approval from NHS England to develop an East Midlands wide service, and jointly set up new multidisciplinary services in Leicestershire.
