The Company

HVPE is an independent company with its own Board of Directors, which includes one HarbourVest Managing Director. The Company works closely with several teams at HarbourVest and is supported by various third-party outsourced service providers. As such, this role requires excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with these groups.

This position will be a hybrid work arrangement with at least to days per week in the London office.
- Experienced in an investor relations and communications role
- An effective leader, with proven ability to manage a small team
- A good communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Proactive and able to lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Well-versed in private equity and, ideally, the public markets
- A people person, able to interact positively with investors and colleagues

What you will do
- Formulate and drive the company’s IR and wider communications strategy
- Be the point person for day-to-day liaison with the company’s shareholders (institutions, wealth managers, and private individuals)
- Plan and co-ordinate investor roadshows, with the support of the IR and Communications Analyst and third-party IR providers
- Present in person and via video at investor roadshows and conferences, alongside the HVPE MD
- Coordinate DDQs, RFPs and the development of shareholder presentations
- Organise analyst and investor briefings/events
- Conduct shareholder mapping and direct prospect targeting, facilitating introductions through third-party providers
- Act as team liaison for investors, service providers, and HarbourVest colleagues
- Generate ideas for potential marketing and communication initiatives and implement these across all marketing channels
- Regularly interact with the HVPE Board of directors, providing frequent IR/ communications updates

What you bring
- A friendly, diplomatic and personable approach when interacting with colleagues at all levels
- A sense for the needs and concerns of investors and a gift for communicating complicated ideas in an accessible way
- An understanding of fundamental accounting and investment principles, preferably gained via a recognised qualification (e.g. CIMA, CAIA, IMC or similar)
- Established network of contacts within the institutional investor, family office and/or wealth management space would be an advantage
- Experience in an IR and communications role strongly preferred
- Able to act as a mentor for more junior colleagues in the organisation
- A high level of energy and engagement, with an independent approach to problem solving
- A keen interest in the world of investing and an avid reader of publications such as the FT, MoneyWeek or Investors Chronicle

Education Preferred
- Bachelor's degree (2:1) or equivalent qualification
- Accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA) advantageous
- Investment qualification (CAIA, IMC) also beneficial

Experience
- 10+ Years IR and communications experience in an asset management environment
