Ed Matron

The ED Matron will provide clinical and managerial leadership which inspires, motivates and empowers all staffing groups they work with. They will be visible leaders whose work will include clinical care in order to ensure quality care delivery and improve patient experience. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Nursing/Head of Nursing, the post holder is expected to develop, monitor and report on a number of quality systems and audits to ensure that optimum quality of care and clinical excellence is achieved and maintained.

The Matron will facilitate the achievement and delivery of our Trust wide Nursing Outcome Metrics framework and provide professional and operational management of the whole nursing delivery service and the providers of nursing care. At Service Line level they will provide assurance of proactive management of clinical and cost improvement plans, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond to identified risks.

Locally, they will professionally lead innovative, improvement projects, which support the Trust's productivity and performance agenda and improve quality of care. These will improve and sustain quality patient outcomes; driving transformation through agreed change models.
