**Project Controls Team Leader**
Do you have excellent business acumen and the ability to use your knowledge to drive effective business actions? Do you challenge the status quo and champion change? Are you able to understand trends and patterns and transform these into ideas and actions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity that may be the role for you
**The Opportunity**
After nearly half a century of safe and reliable generation, our Advanced Gas Reactor power stations are now approaching the next phase of the nuclear lifecycle as we prepare for decommissioning. Decommissioning of an AGR power station involves the removal of all the fuel and mobile radioactive wastes, and the dismantling and removal of all plant, equipment, services and buildings from the site outside of the reactors and fuel stringer debris vaults.
Our job is to remove 99% of the hazard from each site, ensuring safe and effective delivery of ‘fuel free’ reactors, ready to be decommissioned. This next phase involves the preparation and delivery of projects and programmes to enable the defueling of each reactor to be undertaken with zero harm, within an average timescale of 3.5 years per station and to maximise value. Once the reactors are fuel free, the journey continues as we work with external stakeholders to achieve a seamless transfer for the long-term deconstruction phase.
The Project Controls Team Leader is responsible for providing data and insights for internal performance management, supporting the Nuclear Decommissioning Client team in their delivery of the AGR Decommissioning plan. This includes monitoring, reporting, analysing and communication of issues and opportunities in delivering the work portfolio. The Project Controls Team Leader will be responsible for the provision of resources, governance and adherence to processes and procedures, method and tools for the timely and accurate response to requirements.
**Pay, benefits and culture**
We can offer a competitive salary from £71,101 - £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. We’re open to hybrid working with contractual locations being primarily based at Atlantic Quay (Glasgow) or Gloucester Business Park offices however, happy for home working. With this said, there will be a requirement to attend the office on a business need basis, usually at least a couple of times per month.
At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.
**What you’ll be doing**
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and managing the performance and competency of the ND Client team and supporting succession management.
- Establishing and maintaining sustainable Planning Control and capability requirements and the resources to support delivery.
- Providing Portfolio level integrated planning data and insights for internal performance management that supports the ND Client team in externalising EDF’s performance in delivering the Portfolio.
- Supporting ND Client Team with the lifetime schedule inputs required to manage the obligations of the NLFA contract.
- Supporting the ND Portfolio by providing schedule risk analysis and advice in relation to delivering a fit for purpose project control capability.
- Supporting the PMO Manager with any strategic PMO activities associated with the improvement, development, or business as usual within the Portfolio.
**Who you are**
At a minimum, you’ll hold a HNC qualification or equivalent in a relevant field. A degree would be advantageous, as would being a member of an appropriate professional association or institute.
You will have experience in project and work control techniques within complex multi-functional organisations and have knowledge of project tools.
You must have previous experience in project management operating in a large, highly regulated environment.
You will have good commercial and financial awareness, with a strong working knowledge of financial systems.
