**Job Role**: Transport Planner
**Location**: Derbyshire
**Hours**: Monday - Friday
**Salary: £25,000-£30,000 p/a DOE**

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met
- Plan vehicles as close to maximum capacity and time parameters as possible therefore ensuring full efficiency of the vehicles
- Ensure vehicle earnings are greater than vehicle costs to achieve a healthy margin
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company policies
- Ensure loads meet safety standards
- Communicate routes to and liaise with other Depots / Sites
- Source and plan backloads to avoid vehicle empty running
- Fully understand agreed KPI’s for Department
- Work within a team of planners and administration staff

**Experience**:

- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong Interpersonal and people management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail to accurately record delivery information
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and suppliers
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours, tacho-graph and WTD legislation
- Good geographical knowledge the UK

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
