**Role Summary**
This role will take responsibility for developing, leading, supporting and maintaining an adventure activities curriculum.
You will support the delivery of world class education by offering outdoor learning experiences that enriches the learning opportunities for our students.
**Key areas of responsibility - What will you be doing**
**Build Knowledge**
- Staying informed about Health & Safety regulations, College Policies & Procedures, and relevant training related to outdoor activities.
- Understanding the requirements for completing Educational Visits forms, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring safety during expeditions.
- Keeping up-to-date with the condition and maintenance needs of adventure equipment.
- Knowledge of event details, training programs, and safety measures for activities like Devizes to Westminster, Ten Tors, Jubilee Challenge, Duke of Edinburgh Award, and Year 7 residential.
**Build Trust**
- Building trust entails maintaining open and transparent communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Ensuring that students and parents have confidence in the safety and organisation of activities.
- Gaining the trust of students with disabilities and special needs in the ARB program, enabling their participation in the Jubilee Challenge.
- Fostering trust with colleagues and volunteers, as well as collaborating effectively in the coordination of events and activities.
**Prioritisation**
- Giving high priority to Health & Safety compliance to guarantee the well-being of participants.
- Prioritising budget management to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
- Allocating sufficient resources and time for training programs for events like Devizes to Westminster and Ten Tors.
- Prioritising the planning and coordination of Year 7 residentials, which are integral to students' induction process.
**Clarity and Energy**
- Providing clear and detailed information to parents, students, and volunteers regarding plans, schedules, and safety measures.
- Energising and motivating students to participate in physically demanding events like Devizes to Westminster and Ten Tors.
- Ensuring that activities run smoothly with a high level of energy and enthusiasm, making the experiences enjoyable and impactful.
**Follow Up**
- Regularly reviewing and updating risk assessments and itineraries based on changing conditions.
- Conducting post-activity evaluations to identify areas for improvement in equipment maintenance and event coordination.
- Monitoring the condition of adventure equipment and ensuring timely repairs and replacements.
- Continuously evaluating the success and impact of the Duke of Edinburgh Award program and other activities.

**Qualifications**
D1 minibus licence
16 hour Outdoor First Aid
MLTE
- Summer Mountain Leader or Lowland Leader award and camping endorsement
- Rock Climbing Instructor or Indoor Climbing Award
British Canoeing
- Paddle Sport Leader
- Canoe and Kayak Coach
- Desirable_
Tow trailer licence
**Experience**
Experience in a similar role running an outdoor learning setting
Organised
Budget Planning and grant sourcing
Excellent Communication Skills
Able to work independently
Team Management
