You will work with other dietitians, surgeons, specialist nurses, psychologists and endocrinologists. We have a close working relationship with the tier 3, specialist weight management service and there is scope for this position to be flexed across both services.

This role is predominantly based at Southmead Hospital, with capacity for home working and may require travel to other sites such as Cossham hospital.
- You will provide face to face dietetic support including regular blood test monitoring for patients post bariatric surgery
- You will provide pre-operative education and support via online groups and individual clinic appointments for patients on the surgical waiting list
- You will be involved in service development projects including creating online resources, clinical audit and research projects
- You will work closely with the tier 3 team and be involved with the development of the medical weight management service including the provision of GLP1 analogues.
- You will be required to provide a combination of telephone, video and face to face appointments. These may be individual or to groups.

Experience in the assessment, dietary management and management of common nutritional complications which arise post-operatively are desirable for this post but training can be provided.

The obesity team work closely together and provide a brilliant model for multi-disciplinary team working. We have regular team meetings and annual away day to help cultivate that team bond which is so important due to the challenging nature of the work.

As a team we have a keen research interest with good links to the research arm of the British Obesity Surgery Society as well as the University of Bristol.

Southmead Hospital is in the heart of Bristol, a thriving city full of independent retailers and eateries with a vibrant music scene, plenty of green spaces and of course is the gateway to the beautiful South West.
- To provide specialist dietetic service to the Tier 4 Weight Assessment and Management Service. You may also be required to provide care in the tier 3 service.
- To deliver education and training, especially concerning obesity, to a range of health professionals, students and patients.
- To act as an expert practitioner in Obesity care
- To lead and contribute to policy development on matters relating to nutrition and dietetics within NBT, especially those pertaining to obesity.
- To work closely with the wider MDT to improve patient services, providing novel and flexible ways of working to suit both patients and clinicians.
