Butchery Apprentice

Fordhall Farm Butchery are on the search for a new butchery apprentice. An apprentice will be expected to attend Reaseheath college one day a week over a period of 18 months. The aim will be for an induvial to obtain Level 2 Food Safety Award, Level 2 Health & Safety in the Food Supply Chain Award, and Level 2 Knife Skills Award prior to taking the end-point assessment to become a fully qualified butcher.
Alongside this you will work 4-5 days a week in the butchery at Fordhall, you will be shown and taught how to butcher animals from our farm as carcass. In time you will also be expected to produce a variety of traditional butchery products.
You will need to be a motivated individual with a can do attitude with the willingness to listen and learn under our two previous apprentice butchers. It will also be important to be customer focused and have a good levels of customer service.
This role is ideal for school or college leavers as well as anyone wanting to learn a trade. No prior experience of butchery is needed as we are able to train an apprentice on the job.
