Bulk Waste General Operator

Due to expansion of the Effluent plant and Oil Bay operations, we require an additional General Operative to provide cover for existing staff on our Waste and Recycling site in Carmarthen, West Wales.

The job involves daily cleaning of the plant, assisting with the unloading of tankers, accurate completion of paperwork, lab testing of samples, and basic IT, together with other yard based work processes.

The work is not generally heavy, but you will need to be physically fit and be able to work outdoors, and there will be some work at height involved when conducting daily tasks.

When working on the Yard, the work involves manually sorting and segregating commercial waste materials and other general labour.

You will need to complete paperwork and therefore the ability to read and write in English is essential. You will also need basic maths for carrying out the lab testing.

You need to be available for full-time work from Monday to Friday.There will be a need for some flexibility as you may be required to provide cover for different shift patterns; either 06.00am to 2.30p.m. or 08.00am to 4.30pm. There will also be a requirement for occasional cover at weekends.

Your starting rate will be the NMW. After successful completion of your 3-month probationary period, your pay will be increased to the appropriate banding.

You will also be given access to the My Staff Shop platform where you will have access to staff benefits and discounts.

You must be available to start reasonably quickly, and be able to prove your right to work in the UK.
