Trainee Transport Planner

Mostell Logistics, part of the Browns Food Group have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Transport Planner. The role is based at our head office in Kirkconnel (DG4 6RB) and reports to the Transport Planners.

Overall purpose of the role:

- Support the Transport Management Team
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
- Assist the Transport Management Team to ensure effective management and planning of drivers
- Work with customers to meet current and anticipated requirements
- Ensure effective communication to the whole driving team
- Liaising with workshop to ensure equipment inspected on time and defects rectified and maintained to a high standard
- Administrative duties
- General admin duties including scanning and filing
- Dealing with driver queries
- Booking in deliveries at customer depots
- Customer service
- Strong IT literacy skills including Microsoft packages
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to spot and escalate potential problems
- Solid organisation skills, able to prioritise and work effectively to deadlines
- Experience in a fast-paced administrative role, preferably within a warehouse/ distribution/ logistics environment
- The ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly
- Great written and verbal communication skills

Hours of Work: Full time - hours to be discussed at interview.
