The Security Compliance function in Ultra is responsible for ensuring that the company’s officers, directors, and employees comply with the provisions of the company’s Government Security Policies and Special Security Agreement, where required.

Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Crypto Custodian to join our team, supporting our clients internally and externally with the focus on the Defence sector. You will be accountable to the Security Point of Contact as the Crypto Custodian for our secure facility.

Scope

This role will be responsible for duties regarding Cryptographic material held on charge, ensuring that the minimum national and departmental requirements for the secure storage and handling of Cryptographic items are applied, minimising the possibility of a breach of security. You’ll be expected to maintain all required physical / personnel and access controls, whilst also maintaining up-to-date accounting for all material held.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the control of highly sensitive material relating to classified & cryptographic material, ensuring security and confidentiality of that material at all times.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the minimum national and departmental baseline measures for the secure storage, handling, movement, and routine destruction of Cryptographic items and ensure these measures are applied to minimise the possibility of a breach of security or a Practices Dangerous to Security (PDS).
- Maintain an accurate and up to date system of Central Accounting for all Cryptographic items issued to their location using a register of Cryptographic items with supporting vouchers to record every transaction.
- Establish and maintain a system for internal stock checks of all Cryptographic items for which they are responsible at the requisite intervals.
- Authorise, re-certify annually, and debrief Crypto users/holders.
- Review the stock holdings of Cryptographic items at regular intervals and dispose of IAW with relevant legislation.
- Maintain a Cryptographic/Standing order book and ensure annual re-certification by applicable staff.
- Undertake regular periodic Crypto auditing of Crypto holders.
- Handling crypto item deliveries.
- Provide crypto specific training to users and holders.
- Facilitate internal and external audits.
- Assist the security team in the management of security furniture.
- Support the security team with out of hours emergencies.
- Develop and complete the security mustering audit process.

Role Requirements
- This role will require DV security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.
- Full understanding of JSP490, HMG Security Policy Framework and Security Classifications
- Qualification of Corsham / MoD cryptographic course and proven recent experience of managing a Cryptographic account.
