Client Accounts Clerk/finance Assistant

**About Us**:
We are a small, super friendly rural Land Agent/Chartered Surveyors practice based in a brand new office on a new business park in Kennford, Exeter. We manage a varied portfolio of clients and their estates/properties in the South West, mainly Devon and Cornwall. Having started up in 2021 we are relatively new on our journey but with the team having over 40 years' experience and our client base increasing this is a hugely exciting time to join us.
**The Role**:
Part of our business is managing our Clients Estates and their rental properties which range from commercial units, residential properties, farms, agricultural land etc. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Client Accounts Clerk/Finance Assistant to take on and manage the financial side of our Clients' estates through our bespoke Property Management system Arthur - online. This system is predominantly a property management system with an accounting add-on very similar to Xero. This service offered by the business is growing and we are seeking the right person to become the expert and manage it for our Clients. We are looking for someone for the long-term who enjoys building relationships both internally and with Clients and can offer more time as the role grows over the next 12 months.
It is essential for you to have experience using cloud based accounting software and a relevant qualification or to be studying towards AAT level 3. A happy, positive, can-do attitude is paramount for this role. This is a permanent position and full training will be given but experience and an understanding of the following is essential:
**Responsibilities to include**:
- Management and monthly reconciliation of multiple Client bank accounts using cloud based banking software.
- Reconciling rental income.
- Reconciling expenditure.
- Downloading and synchronisation of statements from several banking platforms on a weekly basis.
- Maintenance of purchase ledger account and reconciliations including data entry, posting payments and dealing with supplier queries for each Client account.
- Understanding and producing Nominal Ledger Reports for Clients and their Accountants for year end and quarterly VAT purposes.
- Production of monthly arrears reports for both colleagues and Clients.
- Production of monthly Management accounts.
- Investigating and solving banking queries.
- Any other associated duties as required.

**Essential qualifications, experience and skills**:
- Xero/Sage/Quickbooks or similar cloud based accounting software experience.
- AAT 3 qualified, studying towards AAT 3 or qualified by experience.
- VAT processing
- Tax processing
- Year end processing
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft word and excel.
- Management Accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Bank statement synchronisation and reconciliation.
- Ability to learn new IT skills quickly.
- Positive attitude, friendly and personable.
- Resilient and able to multitask.
- Able to work independently and flexibly.
- Adaptable, organized and conscientious.
- Takes initiative, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines and calm under pressure.
- Methodical and accurate with strong attention to detail.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £28,000.00 per year (Pro-rata)
Expected hours: 7 - 15 per week initially but the role is growing
