Proclinical are recruiting an Assay Biologist / Enzymologist for a biotech establishment. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Cambridge. The client is focused on findings and developing innovative remedies for various illnesses.

**Responsibilities**:

- Offer enzyme/inhibitor mechanistic data and acumens, as well as collaborate with both the chemistry and biophysics team to comprehend SAR.
- You will explore and execute innovative assay technologies to assist the biochemical and cell-based screening cascades.
- Supply training and direction to the less experienced team members.
- You will utilise expertise within enzyme kinetics to offer a comprehension of multifaceted mechanisms.

**Key Skills and Requirements**:

- Educated to a PhD degree level in an enzymology/biochemistry or similar field with pertinent work experience attained in an industrial or academic environment with a passion to provide input in drug discovery. A bachelor's degree level with pertinent work experience will be taken into consideration.
- Analytical capabilities with the ability to comprehend enzyme kinetics, assay development and troubleshooting.
- Expertise on cell biology, chemistry and/or biophysics would be ideal.
- Familiarity with various target classes, for example: kinases, ion channels, protein-protein interactions would be beneficial for the role.
- Both interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Works well within a team environment.
