Linux Infrastructure Specialist

Role: Linux Infrastructure specialist Duration: 4 months initially Location**:Livingston - 2 days onsite, but can be fully remote as an exception **IR35: Yes Inside IR35**

**Job description**:

- Linux Infrastructure specialist, upgrade from RHEL7 to RHEL8 and further enhance our Kubernetes infrastructure,
- Skilled and experienced engineer to join our team.
- Plan, execute, and manage the migration and upgrade process from RHEL7 to RHEL8 across our infrastructure.
- Migration and upgradation experience of around 3000 systems from RHEL7 to RHEL8, ensuring mínimal disruption and maximum efficiency ideally in an enterprise environment.
- Solid understanding of Linux-based operating systems, network protocols, and system administration.
- Expertise in automation and Scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible, Jenkins etc)
- Relevant RHEL accreditation or certifications (eg, RHCSA, RHCE) would be highly advantageous.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues during the upgrade process, ensuring timely resolution and mínimal impact on operations.
- Collaborate with the development and operations teams to integrate the upgraded systems seamlessly
- Use Scripting skills (Bash and Python) to automate routine tasks and enhance system efficiency.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies, with the ability to optimize and scale containerized environments.
- Proficient Scripting skills in Bash and Python, enabling automation of tasks and processes
- In-depth experience with Jenkins for creating and amending pipeline upgrade processes.
