Trainee Test & Validation Printing Engineer

£25-27,000 per annum, depending on experience.
If you are a Graduate, or have one of the following degrees, we'd love to hear from you - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Graphic Design or Computer Software. You must live locally as training could take around two years before you are ableto work on overseas jobs.
As part of the Technical Support team, you will undergo training, working alongside the current specialists in order to gain expert knowledge around the functions and capability of all equipment in the range.
This role requires flexibility and will lead to extensive travel, with duties including:
- To develop relationships in order to achieve first class product knowledge to support engineering activities.
- Once trained you will deliver timely expert 2nd and 3rd line escalation support to 1st line support organisations, professionally and in accordance with service level agreements.
- To fully understand the functionality and capability of all products.
- To research new technologies within the range to develop procedures and training materials to assist product training activity
- To establish effective working relationships and networks within the group Engineering & Application Teams, to ensure knowledge and best practice is shared openly.
- Investigate and report failure mode cause and effect.
- To assist with supporting product documentation, training requirements and distribution of technical support information.
- Respond to requests for print samples and to carry out demonstrations of equipment both face to face and remotely.
- Complete validations on new equipment and ink ranges.
- Identify potential opportunities to improve work processes, tools and systems to streamline workflows.
- Support the department as needed in special projects.
- Degree level qualification or similar, preferably in an engineering or scientific discipline
- A positive proactive approach to work in order to make effective and timely decisions
- Ability to communicate technology issues clearly to Manager and the team, with awareness of priorities and determination to deliver results on time.
- Competent on Mac or PC, with a good comprehension of the OS, Microsoft products.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Proactive, ambitious, and strong ability to learn new things.
- Highly organised and detailed, with critical attention to detail and documentation.
- Full UK driving licence required.
