This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and fast paced business as we rapidly expand our warehousing, routes to market, breweries and bar estate. A good working knowledge of the UK Craft beer industry is required. This role would suit someone with a hospitality management background who would like to stay in the industry while moving away from bar life.
A Day On The Job.....
As a Beer Buyer you will manage our supply of products and services. The main duty is to ensure the company sources quality and affordable products in a reasonable time.
You will play a key role in continuous process improvement and providing the business with a competitive edge. You will work very closely with marketing, sales, logistics and the managing director.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing market leading product solutions that will delight our customers by capitalising on consumer insight
- Liaising with general managers of our estate bars & key customers from the free trade to determine their product and service needs
- Negotiating prices & supplier agreements in line with our commercial targets
- Forecasting across different product categories
- Creating purchase orders, ordering, organising and confirming delivery of goods & services
- Managing product quality, monitoring supplier performance & ensuring corrective action is
promptly taken when required
- Managing the IT systems that track inventory, shipments, the supply & payment of goods
- Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance & business results
- Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders & strategic supply partners to
improve business
- Overseeing customer credit, debt & payment
**Qualifications**:
- 1+ year of procurement experience
- Experience of forecasting
- Strong, proven negotiation skills
- Highly organised with high level of attention to detail
- Passionate about beers, ciders & spirits
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective planner with excellent analytical & problem solving skills
- Ability to use your initiative
- Self-starter with ability to monitor your own performance
- Flexibility & open to change
- Ability to work well under pressure
