We have a great opportunity to join our Dietetic team at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital. We have a vacancy for a full time (37.5 hrs) Band 7 Neonatal Dietitian. We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Dietitian who can work both autonomously and as part of our Neonatal MDT based at St Peters Hospital, in our Level 3 Neonatal unit.

The team members work closely with SLT colleagues, other health care professionals, paediatric community nurses, carers and patients and family members to ensure that patients are receiving optimum levels of appropriate nutrition and hydration, provided in a safe and supported environment.

This post will provide a specialist dietetic service to sick and preterm infants (neonates) at Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust. This post will bring highly specialized knowledge and skills to ensure evidence based nutritional assessment, treatment and management for neonates with specialist nutritional needs. The post will also develop the dietetic role within the neonatal service and working alongside dietetic and therapy colleagues, and the wider MDT, to support the development, implementation and audit of dietetic protocols.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post**:
As part of the Ashford and St Peter’s Dietetic Department to act as a specialist dietitian on nutritional management of Neonates, supporting their carers as well as other hospital and community health care professionals.

To devise and co-ordinate care plans in liaison with carers and multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams

To promote the needs of patients and parents/carers in all aspects of planning and service delivery.

To ensure safe practice by carrying and prioritising a designated, highly specialised clinical caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner without direct supervision.

To take an active role within the general functioning of the Dietetic Department, including contributing to student training.

To communicate and collaborate with team members, other HCPs and partner organisation to support service improvements.

To evaluate outcomes at individual and service level.
