King's Lynn, United Kingdom The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our dedicated and well-established Admissions Unit.

We are looking to recruit a responsible, and diligent Admissions Clerk to accurately carry out an extensive range administrative duties in support of the management of inpatient electives and outpatient treatment areas.

Finely tuned administrative skills are integral for this role, and you must be confident in communicating with both patients, their family members and colleagues of Team QEH.

**Duties you should expect to carry out include**:

- Schedule patients for pre-admission clinics in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring full utilisation of clinics wherever possible.
- Arrange interpreters as required.
- Provide a reception service and receive patients from outpatient clinics to arrange pre-assessment and supply patients with their admission correspondence and general enquiries.
- Make and receive telephone calls from patients wishing to agree/decline their admission date.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King’s Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech.

In February 2022, the significant progress that has been made at QEH in just three years since 2019 was recognised by the Care Quality Commission who rated the Trust as ‘Good’ in all of the core services they inspected, and recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures). We have an absolute determination to continuously improve care and services for our patients and their families.

You will be an important member of the Admissions Office within the main hospital. You will have an ability to work in a systematic and methodical way either under direction or on their own initiative, have good administration skills, be friendly, conscientious and have excellent communication skills.

Attention to detail is of the utmost importance, as is the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and to remain calm and polite under pressure.

If you are interested in working with us, then we would love to hear from you
